Cdr Brian Lockhart

I joined the Royal Navy in May 1987 as an Air Engineering Apprentice and have completed a range of roles including 2 tours in the Royal Navy Air Engineering Training School and 1 tour as the Career Manager for all RN Air Engineering and Survival Equipment ratings.

Personal and organizational development has been the cornerstone of my career and I relish the opportunity to assist in the continuous improvement of our school as the SGC Communication Officer; a role I hope to fulfil until the end of 2023.

I am married to Alison, who is an educator by profession and the current BFS Naples SHEF Co-ordinator & Office Administrator. We very much enjoy crafting gin and, with our little dog, Ebony, exploring all that Italy has to offer.

Gareth Wiggin (Nos)

I joined the RAF as an air traffic controller in 2001 and controlled at bases around the UK and in Cyprus and Iraq. After a tour in Afghanistan I worked on exchange with the British Army and then as XO of RAF Gibraltar before returning to the UK to command my own control tower. Most recently I have been on exchange at United States Strategic Command in Omaha, Nebraska, and then worked at the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters at Northwood. I moved to Naples in November 2021 with my wife Katie and twin daughters Lucy and Cora. Both girls attend BFS Naples and Katie is treasurer of the PTA (Friends of BFS). I am the SGC member with responsibility for infrastructure and will be monitoring UK Strategic Command and DIO closely as they deliver the new school.
