School Events – Summer Term 2023

KS2’s Production of ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ – 05 July 23

Pupils in Years 3-6 took part in the Key Stage 2’s production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream with 2 spectacular shows performed for parents, fellow pupils and friends; one morning show and one evening show. The whole production team had a fantastic time rehearsing for 3wks to put on a fabulous show that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The amazing FoBS team kindly provided refreshments over the 2 performances which went down a treat. Well done to everyone involved, from the cast, narrators and stage crew and an extra special thanks to Miss Coole and Miss Andrews who pulled the whole thing together. Bravo everyone…..

Sports Day – 24 May 23

The whole school took part in the Annual Sports day with house teams Etna, Vesuvius and Stromboli erupting with enthusiasm to win the coveted Sports Day trophy. Parents were invited to come along and watch the event, cheering on their children’s team. The morning began with the team events which saw mixed year group teams take part in the hurdle race, a mini assault course, javelin throwing, fill the bucket and the beanbag throw. Children were then treat to a cold ice-pop and a cool down whilst parents had refreshments and cakes. The second half of the morning saw the racing events with each year group taking part in sprint races, the egg and spoon race and a relay race. The last event of the morning was the parent’s race with mums going first followed by dad’s. Well done to all of the “good sport” parents who took part.

Vesuvius were last year’s champions hoping to hold on to the title but after a fantastic morning in the Italian sunshine, Etna pipped Vesuvius at the post to be crowned the new Sports Day Champions. Well done to everyone involved. Parents, Staff and children all had a fantastic time.

King’s Coronation Picnic – 05 May 23

To celebrate the King’s Coronation, the FoBFS organised a Coronation picnic for all children at the School. The children were invited to wear non-uniform for the occasion and were presented with a Union Flag picnic bag containing a sandwich, drink, fruit, crisps and a cake all prepared fresh by the amazing FoBFS team. The children enjoyed eating their lunches whilst listening to Coronation music and finished off their lunches with chants of “God Save the King”. A fabulous time was had by everyone so a huge thank you to the FoBFS team who made it all possible. Very well done – God save the King and long may he reign!

Month of the Military Child – 28 Apr 23

To celebrate the Month of the Military Child, the children were invited to come to school sporting or wearing something purple. The children loved discussing what being a Military child meant and how that makes each and every one of them so special. Well done for being amazing BFS Naples children 🙂

Rob Biddulph’s Draw-along – 24 Apr 23

On Monday 24 April, the school held a live webinar draw-along session with Rob Biddulph, the award winning children’s author and illustrator. Classes Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini all took part in the hour long session and had a fabulous time learning to draw the King’s Coronation crowns. There were some fantastic drawings completed by the children and they are now looking forward to colouring them in ready for the Coronation.

Head Teacher for the Day – 21 Apr 23

During the Easter Fair, a competition to win the chance to be Head Teacher for the day was held. The winning ticket was drawn by Mrs Robinson and Miss Cora was crowned Head Teacher for the day on Friday 21 April. Miss Cora had a fabulous day; holding important meetings, hosting the weekly Tea Party and carrying out Health and Safety inspections with the school caretaker, Raffaele. She also allowed the opportunity for an impromptu Sports Afternoon for the whole school to take place. Everyone agreed that Miss Cora was a fantastic Head Teacher and that she should make the rules every week!

Sports Afternoon – 21 Apr 23

Whilst Head Teacher for the day, Miss Cora allowed an impromptu sports afternoon to take place. The whole school was invited to take part and they had a fabulous afternoon playing various activities such as Hide and Seek, Fishy Fish Shark, Egg and Spoon Race, group skipping, Tug-O-War and handball. The day was finished with everyone enjoying a well deserved ice-pop to cool down. What a fantastic day – Well done to all involved and well done to Miss Cora for being a fabulous Head Teacher for the day 🙂
