Sports Day – 24 May 23
The whole school took part in the Annual Sports day with house teams Etna, Vesuvius and Stromboli erupting with enthusiasm to win the coveted Sports Day trophy. Parents were invited to come along and watch the event, cheering on their children’s team. The morning began with the team events which saw mixed year group teams take part in the hurdle race, a mini assault course, javelin throwing, fill the bucket and the beanbag throw. Children were then treat to a cold ice-pop and a cool down whilst parents had refreshments and cakes. The second half of the morning saw the racing events with each year group taking part in sprint races, the egg and spoon race and a relay race. The last event of the morning was the parent’s race with mums going first followed by dad’s. Well done to all of the “good sport” parents who took part.
Vesuvius were last year’s champions hoping to hold on to the title but after a fantastic morning in the Italian sunshine, Etna pipped Vesuvius at the post to be crowned the new Sports Day Champions. Well done to everyone involved. Parents, Staff and children all had a fantastic time.
King’s Coronation Picnic – 05 May 23
To celebrate the King’s Coronation, the FoBFS organised a Coronation picnic for all children at the School. The children were invited to wear non-uniform for the occasion and were presented with a Union Flag picnic bag containing a sandwich, drink, fruit, crisps and a cake all prepared fresh by the amazing FoBFS team. The children enjoyed eating their lunches whilst listening to Coronation music and finished off their lunches with chants of “God Save the King”. A fabulous time was had by everyone so a huge thank you to the FoBFS team who made it all possible. Very well done – God save the King and long may he reign!
